Delete your Easy Rasta account

This page explains how to delete your account for Easy Rasta — the Android app (in.easyrasta.app) and the website easyrasta.in, which share one account — and what happens to your data when you do. Easy Rasta is built and operated by Detour Services India Private Limited.

1. Delete it yourself, in the app

In the Android app

  1. 1Sign in to Easy Rasta.
  2. 2Open the Roadbook tab, then tap Settings.
  3. 3Tap Delete my account.
  4. 4Type your username to confirm, then confirm the deletion.

On the website (easyrasta.in)

  1. 1Sign in at easyrasta.in.
  2. 2Open Profile, on the Personal Info tab.
  3. 3Tap Delete my account.
  4. 4Type your username to confirm, then confirm the deletion.

Deletion starts immediately once you confirm, and it cannot be undone. You're signed out straight away. It normally finishes at once; if anything interrupts it, it finishes automatically within 24 hours.

Before you can delete: if you're the only owner of a Club, you'll need to transfer or dissolve it first. If you've created an Event that's still upcoming and other riders have already joined, you'll need to cancel it first. The app shows you exactly what needs resolving.

2. Can’t use the app? Ask us by email

If you can't sign in or no longer have the app, email founder@easyrasta.in from the email address linked to your Easy Rasta account, with the subject “Account deletion request.” Include your username if you know it.

We'll action your request within 7 days and reply to confirm. If we can't match the email to an account, we'll reply to ask how else we can confirm it's yours before deleting anything.

3. What’s deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

  • Your account and profile, including your username.
  • Your vehicles, fuel and maintenance logs and their photos, and insurance/PUC details.
  • Your ride-tracking history.
  • Your emergency contact information and roadside-assistance numbers.
  • Every photo you've uploaded anywhere in the app.
  • Our stored notification registration for your device.
  • Your Marketplace and Parking Rental listings — removed entirely, together with everything tied to them, including bids or bookings from other riders.

We also automatically ask our analytics provider, PostHog, to delete the analytics history linked to your account. PostHog processes deletions in batches, so this usually completes within about a week; we keep retrying automatically until PostHog confirms it.

4. What’s kept, and for how long

Kept indefinitely, with your identity removed

Some things you contributed stay visible to other riders after your account is gone, with your identity removed from them — for example, a loo or parking listing you added, a rating or check you left on one, a public route you created, a challenge or fuel offer you created, a Warn-a-Brother report and its confirmations, or your own entries in a shared trip's Spends Tracker ledger. These are kept indefinitely, because other riders' verifications, Shells, and trust in that shared information depend on them. The record stays; who you are is removed from it.

Records tied to someone else's account

A few records exist mainly because of another rider's account — for example, a comment you left on another rider's public profile, or a check-in you made on someone else's shared ride. These stay until that other rider deletes their own account.

Our deletion record — about 30 days

We keep a small internal record that a deletion was requested, so we can make sure it finishes. Your username is removed from it as soon as your account is deleted, and the remaining account ID is removed about 30 days after PostHog confirms its deletion.

A device identifier held by Firebase

On Android, Firebase's own SDK — not Easy Rasta — creates a device identifier called a Firebase Installation ID to support notifications. Deleting your account removes our own stored registration for your device, but we don't currently call the separate Firebase request that deletes the Installation ID itself. Firebase states that it retains that identifier until such a request is made.
